Data is the new oil and Data science is an interdisciplinary and emerging field focusing on extracting useful knowledge from complex data. It is at the intersection of Computer science and Statistics to solve data-related problems.
As more and more sensors are deployed in all aspects of our lives and in almost all fields (ranging from home, agriculture to health), it becomes important to equip the fresh graduates (and future generations) on the opportunities that represent this new, non-classical field at the intersection of Computer science and engineering.
Merging these two fields in this new programme will open doors to many new jobs which many companies are preparing for upcoming digital revolutions in all sectors (Smart cities, Smart homes, Smart health, data intensive research).
