This programme is designed to cover the core skills as well as the soft skills essential to embark for a successful career in the accounting and finance world.
You will be exposed to accounting standards, auditing guidelines as well as accounting for decision making. This will enable the diploma holder to be fully involved at middle level of an organization to work as accounts officers and finance officers. They will be involved in the planning as well as the operational level of an organisation. In the first year you will be exposed to managerial and basic accounting skills. The second year builds on the knowledge acquired to expose the students to more advanced concepts in accounting, auditing and the legal environment. Full time students are expected to complete an industrial attachment in semester 4. Some of the key modules taught over the 4 semesters are listed below.

Career Prospects
There has always been a demand for accounting related officers at middle management level especially in the private sector. With the diversification of the economy, there is a potential need for well-trained diploma holders in accounting and finance. Successful students will be employed in accounting firms, accounts department of public or private sector organisations as accounts officer, finance officer, treasurer, costing officer, junior accountant.

Cambridge Higher School Certificate with at least 2 ‘A’ levels or completion of Foundation Course or equivalent pre-university qualifications.
