University Degree (DU/Master 1) INES: Digital Engineering for Higher Education and Adult Training (E-Learning)/ Ingénierie du Numérique pour l’Enseignement Supérieur et la formation d’adultes (E-Learning)

University of Mascareignes (UdM, Mauritius)-University of Caen (France)

A partnership agreement between two universities for the first cohort of students.

The DU INES started in the academic year 2019-2020. The cohort was entirely composed of teaching and research colleagues from the University of Mascareignes (UdM), Mauritius.

This group enrollment in the DU was done within the framework of a partnership agreement between UdM and Unicaen, to support the development of digital technology and e-learning practices at UdM, particularly through institutional and pedagogical reinforcement of INCRE (Digital Institute of Knowledge and Research) at UdM.

Tasks requested by the University of Mascareignes (UdM)

The agreement and the establishment of the DU INES that accompanies this partnership are part of a logic of transferring skills to UdM in distance learning and hybridization of courses to support digital practices in UdM’s education, develop distance learning programs, and promote research on these topics.

The nature of the requested work

The objective of the training was focused on managerial skills in hybrid or distance learning: project management, instructional design, team management, assessment of educational methods, etc. All the tasks requested aim at these goals, including individual or collective productions and activities within the modules, as well as an individual or collective supervised project. This supervised project should take the form of an advanced specifications document for creating or transforming a course.

The supervised project, therefore, incorporates the skills developed in the modules, and possibly the work carried out in these modules. Some of the skills developed in the modules are evaluated through the supervised projects.

DU INES – Master 2 INES

In the long term, this DU will evolve into a second-year international and distance-learning master’s program, offering a dual degree from the University of Caen Normandy and the University of Mascareignes.
