You will be exposed to accounting standards, auditing guidelines as well as accounting for decision making. This will enable graduates to be fully involved at senior level of an organization to work as financial accountants, management accountants or even consultants. In the first year you will be exposed to managerial and basic accounting skills. The second year builds on the knowledge acquired to expose the students to more advanced concepts in accounting, auditing and the legal environment. In the final year, more emphasis is laid on the importance of strategic control concepts and enhancing analytical skills. Career Prospects

There has always been a demand for accounting related professionals. With major development in the economy, there is an even increasing demand for well-trained graduates in accounting. Graduates will be employed in accounting firms, accounts department of public or private sector organisations as accountant, finance director, management accountant and auditor.

Teaching Methods

The programme will be assessed in a variety of ways that are appropriate to the subject and learning outcomes within the programme. A range of assessment tools will be used including written examinations, coursework in the form of written assessment, reports and projects, case studies, and in the final year, a research project. However, some modules will be assessed wholly on the basis of continuous assessments.
