Course Overview

Two-year full-time programme which aims at preparing students to become ICT professionals and support the fast developing ICT sector of Mauritius in the field of Software Development.

The programme consists of an optimum blend of theory and practical skills to make the Diploma holders immediately employable in industry. The programme also includes an industrial placement so that students have the opportunity to develop their skills within an industrial setting.

Career Prospects

Graduates have a wide range of careers open to them. They can find employment as software developer, programmer, web developer and database administrator. Upon successful completion of the Diploma, graduates may opt for pursuing higher studies in BSc Software Engineering or in specific areas of Computer Science.

Teaching Methods

Teaching and learning takes place through lectures, tutorials, laboratory work, individual and group projects, seminars and industrial placement. Students are expected to spend a considerable amount of time on private independent study. Even though the main medium of instruction will be English, some modules may be taught in French. Some parts of the Programming Project may also be written in French. Our aim is to train bilingual professionals who will have a definite advantage in today’s competitive and globalised job market. On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Diploma in Software Engineering.

Mode: Full Time (2 years) & Part Time (3 years)
Duration of Course: The diploma is of a duration of two years on a full time basis.

Local students ( Full time and part time )
• No tuition fees
• Administrative fees : Rs 9,000 / year
International students ( Full time )
• SADC countries: Rs 45000 / year
• NON SADC: Rs 80000 / year
Delivery plan & Intake: The course is run over 4 semesters (two academic years) on a full time basis and 6 semesters (three academic years) on a part time basis.
One intake per year in August.
